A Quick Note for 2016
For those of you who know me, you know I'm a tad bit of an over-achiever. And by tad bit, I'm a recovering clinically-diagnosed extreme Type A. For those of you who don't know me...you might as well know about my personality early on. This year - 2015 - I set out to reach 15 goals. And on this day - December 29, 2015 - I have to admit: I reached half of them. HALF! And yet, I don't feel under-accomplished for the year; I actually think I did pretty good this year. I finished college, started a new career, and grew in key spiritual areas such as wisdom and giving grace. I think the issue with judging my 2015 accomplishments based on my goals is that I didn't account for areas of growth that are immeasurable and/or intangible. There were many times throughout the year when I could have just "made it happen", as in just accomplished my goal and marked a check next to the box, but instead I chose to grow organically through situations which could not have been anticipated in early 2015. And now that the year is over, I'm happy with my progress this year.
As I plan 2016, I will remember that intangible growth is something to be remembered, if only for acknowledgement and giving grace to myself. I hope as you plan 2016, that you, too, remember to grow in areas which may not be measurable but will enrich your life in ways you desire.
What about you? What advice do you have for 2016 and goal-planning? I would be honored if you would leave a reply at the bottom of this post to share with my readers.
Best wishes for 2016, PriskaTabitha
